Founders – Konstantin Tuonihovi

Konstantin Tuonihovi (b. 1977) is a self-taught photographer and digital visual artist. He began actively capturing images with a digital camera and processing them in 1997 while working as a multimedia assistant at the Sibelius Academy.

Tuonihovi’s inspirations broadly include the psychology of the nocturnal, mythology, and occultism; however, the core of his work has always been the experience of sacred horror. His other modes of expression include writing, sound artifacts, spatial and light installations. His working methods involve various trance states, atavistic sacred geometry, and exploring chthonic depths.

Tuonihovi conceived the idea for the Radio Wyrd podcast in 2012 and served as one of its hosts. He is also known as the creator of the Kuoppa (The Pit) total art project, in relation to which he is currently writing his debut novel. A long-brewing concept of a visionary artist collective came to fruition at the end of 2020 in Tuonen Portti Artist Collective.
